Must Watch: First International Trailer for Max Payne

Posted on July 12, 2008 • Filed under: "Max Payne", Videos 1 Comment

The first trailer for John Moore’s adaptation of the video game Max Payne has finally arrived. After months and months of waiting and immense early praise, we finally have our first look at what to expect in this upcoming video game adaptation. Honestly, I’m impressed, very impressed, by this trailer. It won’t be what you expect, but it might leave you quite excited. I really love the visual style and this time I think Mark Wahlberg will kick ass, unlike in The Happening. I have no clue what that angel was at the end and if there is a dark fantasy or paranormal element to this, but that scene was pretty intense. I’ve been looking forward to this since I first heard about it and now I’m truly excited to see it.

This is an international trailer courtesy of Filmweb.pl. We expect there to be a different American version that might hit theaters soon as well. Although this looks much different from the games, it still looks very entertaining. Does the trailer live up to all of your expectations?

Mark Wahlberg Updates Darren Aronofsky’s The Fighter

Requiem for a Dream’s Darren Aronofsky has two similarly titled films in the works: The Wrestler and The Fighter. The first one is about Randy ‘The Ram’ Robinson and stars Mickey Rourke. The second one is about ‘Irish’ Micky Ward and stars Mark Wahlberg. We already know that Aronofsky has been shooting The Wrestler for a while and is actually probably finishing post-production on the film right now anyway. However, Wahlberg himself finally updates MTV on the status of The Fighter, the film I’m more interested in, and says that they’re expecting to start shooting in October. If you’re concerned about it being another bleak boxing movie, don’t worry, so is Wahlberg. (Read full story …)
