HBO has commissioned a pilot episode of Mark Wahlberg’s comedy How To Make It In America.
The show, which is written by Ian Edelman, follows three enterprising twentysomethings who are attempting to hustle their way to the American dream, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson and Entourage’s Rob Weiss will produce the project.
Speaking about the concept, Levinson said: “These guys don’t want to wait for things to happen, they make them happen. (Read full story …)
Mark Wahlberg won’t be joining the ranks of celebrity moms and dads who sell out their infants on magazine covers when they’re only a few weeks old.
Mark and his girlfriend Rhea are expecting their third child in September, and he’s made it clear he wants to keep all the details private, and won’t even entertain any offers for a photo shoot.
He says, “There will be no selling of our baby pictures, no hoopla, nothing like that.”
We have to respect the fact that he wants privacy for his family, and we’re sure his wife appreciates it too. It’s not like these celebrities are hurting for money. Plus we feel like the public is a little tired of seeing a new baby on the covers every other week! Source: Hollyscoop
After passing the SWAT test in preparation for her upcoming flick “Max Payne,” the real-life girlfriend of Macaulay Culkin used her gun skills against co-star Mark Wahlberg.
“I can shoot pretty well,” Kunis told Pop Tarts at last week’s Comic-Con convention San Diego. “I got to beat Mark up with my little gun, which was fun — he cried a little bit. I’m sure I saw a few tears.”
Wahlberg didn’t issue a denial, jokingly telling us later that Kunis “isn’t as nice as you would think; she likes to beat up on people.”
But it seems Wahlberg may have taken a bit of a dig at the likes of Brangelina, Jessica Alba and Matthew McConaughey, who all earned big bucks for shopping around snaps of their newborns (Brangie sells the pics for charity). (Read full story …)
With baby number three on the way, Mark Wahlberg is committed to making his family life as successful as his film career – and that includes marrying longtime girlfriend Rhea Durham.
“We continue to grow in our relationship,” Wahlberg told PEOPLE on Thursday at San Diego’s Comic-Con International, where he was promoting his upcoming film Max Payne. “I think we have a much better chance at succeeding and staying together.”
The 37-year-old actor and longtime girlfriend Durham, 30, plan to have a formal wedding next summer after their baby is born. (Read full story …)
Will Mark Wahlberg miss the Emmys this year? If he does, it’s because he might have a more pressing engagement — the upcoming birth of his second son!
ET asked the “Entourage” executive producer if he’s going to the Emmys on September 21, and he revealed, “That’s our due date so we’ll see — it would be nice to go there, get the Emmy, and then from the Emmys go to the hospital and bring our little boy into the world!”
Mark and his longtime love Rhea Durham’s new baby boy will join their 2-year-old son, Michael, and their 4-year-old daughter, Ella.
Mark Wahlberg has certainly been coming out of his shell recently – just yesterday, the once-reclusive actor happily showed his young son off to the paps!
We caught up with Mark outside Fo-Fo-Figgily, where he and his very pregnant girlfriend Rhea Durham took his kids to play. Mark seemed to benefit from the playdate as much as his children – while getting back into his car, Mark joked around with the paps and proudly held his two-year-old son Michael up for them to see! Aww, thanks for the photo op, Mark – we can’t wait to see how proud you are of your next kid!
Gonzo journalist-screenwriter Evan Wright has moved from American cowboys on the Iraqi frontier to the cocaine cowboys of 1970s Miami.
Wright, who wrote the nonfiction book on which the HBO miniseries “Generation Kill” is based, has closed a deal to write the feature “Cocaine Cowboys” for Paramount. The deal grew out of his work on a book that Crown will publish in 2009.
Mark Wahlberg and Peter Berg (”Hancock”) have been attached to star in and direct, respectively, the story of Jon Roberts, an injured Vietnam vet by age 20 who ended up involved in gangland takeovers of New York City nightclubs in the early ’70s (his uncle was the consigliere to Carlo Gambino). By the end of the decade, Roberts landed in Miami, dealt billions of dollars worth of coke for the Medellin drug cartel and ultimately spent 10 years in prison. (Read full story …)
The legendary interactive video game Max Payne comes to the big screen, telling the story of a maverick cop determined to track down those responsible for the brutal murder of his family and partner. Hell-bent on revenge, his obsessive investigation takes him on a nightmare journey into a dark underworld. As the mystery deepens, Max is forced to battle enemies beyond the natural world and face an unthinkable betrayal. “Max Payne” himself—Mark Wahlberg—will be on hand with Mila Kunis, Ludacris, and director John Moore to discuss turning the game’s noirish, hard-hitting, and complex world and characters into a movie event.
I uploaded some MQ promotional stills from Mark’s upcoming film ‘Max Payne’. Hopefully I can get my hands on some HQs soon. You can view the trailer here.
